Step 8- Stuff and Solder. Finally, the easy part!  Put a 10k where it says 10k, put a relay where it says relay, and so on.  You should probably stuff a few components and then solder them before continuing to stuff.  Especially with components of varying height, they’ll never stay in the holes when you flip it over to solder!  Do the short components like flat-mounted resistors first.  Then DIP socket, then caps.  Last is the big honkin relay and 7805 voltage regulator as they are the tallest.

And there you have it – the hardware design is complete!  Go ahead and start on your boards while we write up the software (PIC) side of things, and we’ll soon be back for part II of this article.
