You may have noticed that the site was down for some time – several weeks, actually! We’re not sure whether someone got us with a tricky injection exploit or whether our host just botched us in the upgrade to SQL 5 – it will take some more investigation of the log files to really wring it out. And trust us, we have logs of all sorts of shit to sort through.
Anyway – it’s at least an excuse to upgrade the entire site, so that’s what we’re doing. There will be dust and debugging to do, so please bear with us. Not to worry though, we have daily backups of all the databases so the data is fine. It’s just the simple matter of hand-hacking sql queries to parse out the interesting bits from the old db framework, sort, and re-inject into the proper places in the new db’s. Heh – so if by chance we botch it from time to time and the lights go out temporarily, please just try back in another day or so.
The only really tedious part is the site layout, color scheme, and other crap like that. So enjoy this out-of-the box theme for a while until we get our asses in gear and actually set some colors or something. hahah!
Oh, and we have some great technical stuff on the way, too! Exercising those electronic scrounging/circuit hacking skills that have been so long neglected. And after that – more devious exploits of consumer electronics. You’ll never guess who’s been sending their firmware updates in easily decryptable packages!
