The program increments a byte from “Start” to Stop”, and for each iteration it sends a command to the D620. The command begins with the arbitrary bytes listed in the “Head” box and completes with the bytes in the “Tail” box. You can change Start, Stop, Head, and Tail. All other boxes are output and your changes would be ignored.
The center box is the present command’s input data (if anything came back from the meter) and the bottom box is the log. Any commands that elicit a response are logged as well as the input data received from the meter. In Short Log mode as shown above, only the variable character is logged and it is converted from hex to ascii for readability. The rest of the command (02, xx, 3f, 0d) is not logged. To see the entire command that was sent, use extended log mode by unchecking the Short Log box.
